Compression products are an important component of successful oedema therapy. Adjustable compression wraps are used for decongestion in lymphoedema. Flat knit garments relieve congestion in cases of lymphoedema and alleviate pain in cases of lipoedema.

The compression products that are suitable for the two treatment phases of complex manual decongestive therapy for lymphoedema are adjustable compression wraps (ACW) or supports, followed by flat knit garments.
The decongestion phase involves repeated manual lymphatic drainage combined with continuous compression therapy using adjustable compression wraps or supports, exercise therapy and skin care. The aim of this phase is to soften hard areas and drain oedema fluid, so that the circumference of the affected area of the body can be reduced as much as possible. Adjustable compression wraps enable simple and quick self-application and can be readjusted at any time if the circumference of the affected area fluctuates.
In the maintenance phase, the frequency of the manual lymphatic drainage is reduced. To maintain the decongested state as effectively as possible, custom-made flat knit compression garments are used. Due to their knitted properties, these garments create an increased working pressure and constant massaging effect. Exercise therapy and skin care will also continue.
To reduce the symptoms of lipoedema, flat knit garments are used for the arms or legs. These compression products are custom-made to the individual and provide pain relief and increased stability for the tissue while being worn.
